Roots/reggae singer Mic Inity launches his comeback album “Survivor” tomorrow at Misty’s in Newlands after a four-year hiatus.
Mic Inity whose real name is Mike Madamombe has had an eventful career since his debut album “Freedom” as his private life made
headlines more than his music.However, the Marondera-born crooner has come up with yet another album that is set to put his career back on the rails.Possessing a good voice and swag, Mic Inity has over the years built a firm fan base and most of his fans follow him everywhere he goes.Tonight is no exception as Mic Inity turns on his swag at Misty’s as he celebrates his birthday.Aptly titled “Survivor”, the album was co-produced at Konako Studios by Michael Murumbi aka PTK – short for Platinum the Killer – as well as Love Johns and Mix Masters.“Survivor” being the title track, the compilation album follows the release of “Freedom” in 2010 which featured artistes such as Guspy Warrior and Marcy n The Red.
“Freedom” received much air play and won Mic Inity Best Reggae Artiste of the year 2013. “Survivor” is a 12-track album and a must have for reggae lovers.Of the 12 tracks, there is “Song For Mama”, a tribute to his mother who passed away some years ago and “Girl You Look Good” among other tracks.The launch falls on Mic Inity’s birthday and celebrations will be hyped. Many of his friends are expected to grace the occasion. Guspy Warrior, Soul Jah Love, DJ Ash Styles, Ras Nhombos and a lot of other big names in the music industry are expected at the launch.The launch is a Red Carpet, Black Tie affair.Mic Inity’s music has matured and is of International quality. The video is set to be released on the same day as the album launch and was produced by Simba Gee of TMG Studios. “Survivor” has three more videos produced by Simba Gee that will be released by March 2015.CD’s and DVD’s will be available tomorrow as well as promo material and only 10 exclusive autographed pictures of Mic Inity.Mic Inity will be going on “Survivor” tour with shows planned from April 2015 to August 2015. The tour will take “Survivor” to Bulawayo, Mutare, Masvingo, Marondera, Gweru, Beitbridge, Victoria Falls, Zambia, South Africa, Botswana and Namibia.Dates and venues will be released in due course.“Survivor” is expected on our local radio stations and online radios like ZimOnline as well as Channel O and MTV Base.A social media version of the album will be available upon request.
