A 46-YEAR-OLD school headmaster from Gweru committed suicide by throwing himself in front of a moving bus while running away from his wife, following a misunderstanding over his transfer to a new school in Lower Gweru.
The man, Jabulani Hove of 4850 Mkoba Village 9 high density suburb, who was a headmaster at a local school, allegedly committed suicide by throwing himself in front of a moving bus owned by Sino Cement Company, which was being driven by Mr Movern Kadzombe, while his wife was giving chase following an altercation.
Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Joel Goko confirmed the incident which occurred two weeks ago at around 6am at Mkoba Village 12 turn-off along Hamutyinei road in Gweru.
“I can confirm that we are investigating a case in which a 46-year-old man from Mkoba was knocked down by a bus owned by Sino Cement Company on 12 August this year at around 6 am.
“Circumstances are that Hove was hit by a bus at Mkoba Village 12 turn-off along Hamutyinei road. He sustained a fractured skull and a broken leg as a result of the accident and he died on the spot,” he said.
